Specialist Clinician – Adolescent / Adult Service
Stop is a well-respected social services agency that provides its services across the South Island. Stop is a specialist provider of high-quality community-based assessment and intervention services for adolescent and adults who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour. Stop provides individualised therapeutic interventions which make a positive difference in the lives of our clients their families and their communities.
We are expanding our Nelson based service and are seeking a part time Clinician, working 20 hours per week, to support our Adult and Adolescent service.
The role involves the delivery of therapeutic assessment and intervention for adolescents and adults who have been referred for harmful sexual behaviour. A trauma-informed, psychosocial framework is utilised in providing a combination of individual and family therapy in conjunction with liaison with schools and other community agencies as required. The successful applicant will be supported by an experienced team of Specialist Clinicians. Some travel will be required. Hours of work will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
The successful applicant will have the following attributes, skills and experience:
- Proven therapeutic experience and skills in clinical work with adolescents and adults
- Experience in working with families in stressful situations
- Qualification in psychology, counselling, social work, family therapy or equivalent
- An ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and work professionally alongside other social service agencies
- Some experience of working with issues related to trauma and attachment is preferable
- Excellent communication, relationship and organisational skills and enjoys contributing to a strong and reflective team
